I decided in the middle of the day yesterday that I was having so much fun giving away Mr. Owl that I wanted to continue the fun! I wracked my little brain, and I’ve come up with a giveaway for each day that reflects one of my passions. Today it’s the obsession that started it all… knitting!!!
To one lucky commenter, I am sending 2 fabulous skeins of Forbidden Fleece Cozy Sock Yarn and a handmade dpn needle roll!!!
Another handmade project of mine, the dpn needle roll is made out of felt and ribbon. The outside is a lovely burgundy color, and the inside is a nice light blue. Please note: the dpn needles and crochet hook in the case are not included in this giveaway – they are mine and I need them!!!
The sock yarn is from Forbidden Fleece, my favorite indie dyers who also happen to be friends of mine! They are a fabulous husband and wife team who love yarn and want to bring the best to sock knitters everywhere! This Cozy yarn is hand-dyed, 100% Merino Superwash, 3 ply, fingering weight yarn. I was only going to give away the skein on the left, since it is named after me – Leigh’s Woodlands (I told them what my favorite colors were, and they made a colorway with them!!!). But as I was looking through the colorways I had, the Pumpkin Spice just jumped out at me, too! Such warm, cozy colors, perfect for a warm fall sock…. I fell in love with this colorway the first time I saw it! I linked to their Etsy shop above, though they rarely sell on Etsy anymore - but that is a good way to get a peek of some of their stuff until they get their new website up and running. Until then, if you are interested in getting your hands on some of this yummy goodness, you can contact them at forbiddenfleece (at) hughesnet (dot) com or join the Forbidden Fleece group on Ravelry. FYI – they also have non-sock yarn, too… I haven’t had a chance to squeeze anything besides the sock yarn, but I’ve heard it’s all yummy!
To win this wonderful sock knitting giveaway, please leave me a comment with a valid email address. I’d also love to know your favorite sock pattern, or the one you’re working on now, or if you don’t knit socks, tell me what your favorite thing to craft is. Comments will be accepted through the end of the week, and the drawing will occur on Saturday, November 1.
If this is your first time here, take a look around – I’d love for you to come back again! Also, check out my first Bloggy Giveaway, the giveaway on my other blog, and the others at the Bloggy Giveaway Carnival site!!! Come back each day this week for more giveaway goodness!

Oh I would love to win this! I’ve been (re) learning how to knit and am so looking to graduate from scarves into something a little more challenging, like socks.
Fabulous giveaway! I have been wanting to learn how to knit socks forever! The colours are wonderful!
Thx

Hang on while I wipe the drool off of my keyboard.
Ok I have a pair of plain socks on the needles. I am using Knit Picks Bare that I dyed with Kool-aid. Also on the needles is a pair of Jaywalkers made with a custom sock club colorway from Knitting Up a Storm.
I’ve been knitting since I was 9, but never socks and have been wanting to give them a try. Gorgeous yarn! Thanks for entering me.

OK sock yarn is the best giveaway!! I’ve just started knitting socks. I’ve done two whole pairs. The first pattern I used was the Basic Sock Recipe from the Yarn Harlot. The second was this: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/bmgs-footies. I think I finally get why socks are so addicting to knit!!!
(LMDuvall at gmail dot com)
I don’t know how to knit however i want to learn, i like to draw, and paint, alter anything mostly pocket books.

Please enter me – I would give this to a friend who loves to knit

Great giveaway! I haven’t learned to knit yet but i plan on it so I can knit SOCKS!!! I crochet a lot right now thou!
Wow! That is beautiful yarn. What an honor to have that colorway named after you!!!
I just crocheted by first pair of socks! Thanks for the giveaway!
Socks are what my dad wants this Christmas. I hope you are including a pattern. As the socks i make are this very thick yarn and you are offering lovely thin yarn that does not hide my mistakes very well. (giggle)
Thank you
I am a sewer- i dont know how to knit or crochet..yet! I really really want to learn, but my husband just doesnt want to see me buy more stuff (my fabric stash is all over the room). If I were to win some great sock making materials I wouldnt need to buy anything (except needles) and then I could learn..and have nice warm socks!
I’ve been wanting to make some socks – I’ve never made them before, but I’ve been knitting forever.
I also LOVE embroidering things.
I love to knit! I just finished my first warm heart woolies diaper cover for my little one and am about to run out the door to buy buttons for it. My husband has been begging for some socks, so looks like I’m going to have to venture out – I’ve been a bit afraid of dpns thus far – though I have used them for mittens.
Oh, if only I loved to knit! I agree that yarn is YUMMY!
I would love to knit my family hats!
I love the yarn!! I’ve been knitting for a few years now and just recently have been drooling over everyone’s projects with socks….I want to learn to make socks but am afraid of DPNs. If I win this I suppose I’ll have to try to conquer the fear!
Oh my gosh, your blog is so cute.. My mother just gave me my first knitting lesson this weekend.. I am on coster number 3
not perfect, not even square yet..
but less and less skipped steps and holes : ) I can use all the practice stuff I can get

My mom, bless her heart, is very patiently teaching me how to knit. Dishrags have become my specialty
I do crochet quite a bit, and usually make baby afghans as presents for friends. I have made my daughter a few blankets though. The yarn you are giving away is very pretty, perfect colors for fall! Thank you for a great giveaway!
Oh boy! This is just what I need! I’m starting to knit my first pair of socks right now. I have a couple of rows done on my first one. I’ve always been a crocheter, but decided to try the knitting thing.
Great giveaway!

erika
That yarn is so pretty, and I could really use that roll up holder! I dont knit, tried once but I was too slow at it but I love to crochet!
-Ally mommylove05@gmail.com
Beautiful yarn. I would love to use it to make my first pair of socks. I knit and crochet.
I would love to win this! I used to work in a yarn shop and because of that I can now magically tell the fiber content of a sweater just by touch! I haven’t knitted socks in a while, so I would definitely use the yarn to knit a new pair. Oh, and my knitting needles need some serious organization!!!!
Oh, oh, oh! Please enter me!! That looks like such yummy yarn and that needle roll – very cool!
Now, off to check out the rest of your blog
Whoops! So excited I forgot my email address from my entry above:)
It’s enquiry[at]jeweledonline[dot]com
Ohhhh!!! muuuuuust haaaaaaaave!! I have never actually used a good sock yarn and I’m dying to get my hands on some!
I would love to win this! I have never attempted to knit socks before, but would love to give it a try. Right now I am knitting a scarf.
m2boyz (at) hotmail (dot) com
Sock yarn! One of my goals before I die is to try to knit a pair of socks. Right now, I can only knit in a straight line– so if you need a scarf, I’m your woman! After I get all practiced up on socks, I’m going to try a sweater.
I’ve not braved socks yet though I have them on my list of things to knit yet this year. I’m currently working on a new hat for my son and a scarf for one of the little girls in my world!
Well I don’t knit but I REALLY want to learn and my grandma said she would teach me!!
I do like to sew though
amitymatthia [at] hotmail.com
AMAZING sock yarn!!!!!!!! I just finished my first pair of Cat Borhdi’s basic sock on 2 circs.
Oh yarn! Yay! I’ve never even owned sock yarn but this looks yummy and I’d love to try (not to mention the needle roll! I so need that, my sticks are everywhere). Right now I’m working on hats, and I have a pair of fingerless mitts wanting to be finished. But they have to wait.
Thanks for the giveaway – the yarn is yummy!
Robin – cokelush at gmail
These yarns are so beautiful. They look very soft too. I am currently learning to crochet and want to learn how to sew too. Thanks for the giveway!
wow!
I’ve knitted a few pairs of socks (none within the last year) but I’d like to get into it again. One pattern was pretty complicated, I believe it was an Estonian knitting pattern. That’s when I threw in the towel on socks!
I have been knitting lots of baby things for my son and friends’ babies. Maybe it’s time to return to an easier sock!
thanks for this janaemadsen@yahoo.com
Socks seem so hard! I have lots of patterns saved on Ravelry, but who knows if I’ll ever try any of them.
I like to knit but I have not yet attempted socks. My sister can whip them up chick so I would give her the yarn to knit me the socks. Thanks for the chance.
Currently I’m working on my BDKAL Nutkins. But i’ve had to put them down to knit some fingerless mittens b/c my hands are getting so cold in the house now. Mmmm….FF yarn is just so yummy.
No socks yet – I’m just learning!
Mmmm….sock yarn. My first sock yarn was Trekking XL, and man! What fine gauge. I’ve never knit in anything finer than fingering, and sock yarn takes forever to knit up!
I’ve been knitting some stripped knee highs for a couple of months. Of course, my pair of striped knee high socks amount to one ankle length sock. Hopefully they will grow sometime soon…
OOhh, I would love this set! I just knit my first pair of socks and need more yarn so I can start on another!
Kat
The yarn is absolutely beautiful. Great giveaway! Thanks!
Ooh…yummy sock yarn! I am learning to knit and haven’t tried socks yet, but would love to learn to make them. Thanks for the great giveaway opportunity!
The only socks I’ve ever made have been done from the Yarn Harlot’s vanilla sock recipe. Love them!
I’d love to learn to knit socks. Right now I knit scarves.

My friend is dying to teach me how to knit socks. She would be very envious of this yarn. Thanks for offering it!
SQUEEE YARN! CUTE YARN! Can you tell that I am excited? I just use something that was called mom’s socks that popped up when I googled free knitting patterns.
wow realy nice
I don’t knit but, these colors would make a beautiful crocheted poncho and I do know how to crochet!
That yarn is beautiful – I’ve never knit socks before, but I would be willing to try my hand at it. I have a little bit of crafting ADD – I like to jump from one type of project to the next very quickly – crochet to knit to needlefelting to recycling old sweaters. And if you have something new that I haven’t tried, I’d love to start!
I don’t knit, but my mom said she would teach me this winter. This would be perfect for it!
I haven’t gotten to socks yet, but I have been working on baby legwarmers. I love them!
I’ve never knitted socks, but I do knit hats, scarves, mittens, bags, toys — all sorts of things. I’ve been interested in trying socks though!
Thanks for the giveaway! These are beautiful colours and what a great way to organize needles and hooks!

I’ve never tried to knit socks before! My very favorite type of crafting is scrapbooking! I love that sooooo much!

I don’t knit, though that is on my list of New Year’s resolutions. I am an avid crocheter, so the yarn would be used somehow in my crocheting.
Thanks!
I don’t craft, but my stepdaughter does and she LOVES to knit!
I have done any knitting in so long & I really want to start. I’d love to be able to do legwarmers especially. This would be an awesome start!

We must have the same favorite colors! I have not yet tried sock knitting, but I get bored in the winter and thought maybe this year I would learn how to knit socks. Two years ago it was scarves, and last year was baby afghans.
Thank you for giving me some much-needed inspiration!!
I’m a crocheter, so I’d love to win this prize. The yarn colors are beautiful! Right now I’m working on a scarf for my daughter, but I would love to try my hand at a pair of socks.
I have made socks, but live in Florida so they are not used so much.
But I do love to knit baby hats…

This would be a perfect win for me! I am an avid crocheter and I’m just venturing into knitting. I have a yarn and needle addiction also! LOL. The yarn is beautiful. I am currently working on scarves for Christmas gifts.
I’ve not learned to knit yet–that’s on my list! But I love to crochet and sew. Right now I’m working on a quilt for my nephew-to-be, due around Thanksgiving. I love that yarn!

Lovely yarn! Would like to make a hat set
Well my husband is the knitter and wouldn’t socks be timely for winter AND Christmas? When I ‘craft’ I make cards and the like. Thanks so much for the giveaway!
Ooooooohhhhhh. I love sock yarn! I’ve only made 2 pairs of socks though. My favorite things to make are baby items for my charity, so I could definitely use this yarn! Thanks!!
I love knitting socks. I don’t have a favourite pattern, but right now I’m knitting another pair of Thujas for my brother – heavy, warm socks that won’t wear out in work boots.
I’m just learning to knit, so far I’ve just made dishcloths, but I’m LOVING it so far!!
Gorgeous yarn and fabulous needle wrap. I am quite excited about the chance to win such wonderful knitterly goodness. My favourite sock pattern is Viking socks by Lykkefanten, which can be found on Rav.
I don’t knit but my daughter-in-law does so I would win to give it to her. My craft is sewing and making lavender sachets.
My email is sweetiessweeps@gmail.com and my website is http://www.shopping-gems.com
Those are gorgeous yarn colorways! I don’t knit yet, but my mom just moved in with us, and she’s promised to teach me how

I knit some…I am going to be going to a class with my daughter to learn…this set would just bless her thank you for offering it…cvdmvega@yahoo.com
I’ve never knitted socks, though I have knitted other things. Honestly though, I prefer crocheting over knitting, since it doesn’t hurt my hands to crochet.
I know how to knit, but have never tried socks. This would be a great reason to try!
My girls knitted socks for the youngest baby. They made booties and Mary Jane “shoes” out of yarn.
very cute.
