Even though I haven’t knit many socks, I definitely have a bad case of second-sock-syndrome. Heck, I have a bad case of first-sock-syndrome… except for the socks I made for Baby D, I have never finished a sock. Hmmm….
So I told you I joined a sock KAL, right? I thought this would give me the push I needed, the encouragement and accountability to actually finish a sock. It didn’t work with the first sock in June. Remember?
Well, I bought a book (at KnitPicks’ huge summer book sale) that taught me how to knit 2
socks at ONE TIME. And I am in love. I know, I know – I fall in love way with things too often… but this technique is a sock-saver! And it’s so easy once you get the hang of it! I even knitted on my sock while watching SYTYCD last night – I only messed up once (and it wasn’t even a big mess up – I just wound up with 3 of the 4 sides of the socks on one needle. Somehow I figured it out quickly and fixed it during a commercial break!).
Here are some pictures… I have several more inches done as of now. These pictures were taken a week ago, and I’ve had several naptimes to work on them since then…
My new needles also make this super-easy. I am so glad I splurged on this set. Now I need to get some of the smaller needles so I can keep this up with the fingering weight socks to come.
Does anyone else out there knit socks like this? I looked into the Magic Loop technique, too, but I really needed something that would let me knit both socks at the same time. And that isn’t like this. Extreme knitting? It gives me a headache just thinking about doing it like that!

Again. Another language. My poor little scarflette (It is definitely going to be a scarflette) is sitting dejectedly on my hutch right now…
